I Love my TED Talks iPad app, Top 5 favorites. You can jump on browse through the hundreds of TED presenters recorded and posted free on the web. Over the weekend I read about Kate Orff. Kate is trying to revive New York’s polluted rivers with the use of Oyster’s. Quite an interesting talk and very informative about oysters and the role they play in cleaning polluted waters. The Video is short and I invite anyone with an extra 12min to check it out.

(pic from Giz)

We waste sooo much in this Country, the linking article shows soo many good points. This item was shipped cross country most likely. Using Air, truck, and hand delivery. This box takes way more space in the airplane causing less room, more trips, more fuel, as well as more room in the UPS truck, again, more trips, less room. I mean true, dell probably sells this for less, but by the time it gets to your door, you saved 2 bucks and just contributed to about 100fold enviorment pollution then buying at your local best buy or electronic store.

DYING WORLD

Not your fault, you don’t think about these thing’s when you see a cheap item online. It’s the Giant companies i think that should be FINED and Liable for these mistakes, that’s what is going to have to change is Regulations put on these companies… I’m sure their paychecks to congress saves them more money that buying multiple box sizes, and just use one for most of their shipping.

POINT!!! - We can try to be more eco-friendly as a Consumerist, but it is all for NOTHING… It’s the big companies that HAVE TO CHANGE, not us.
