Looks like Jessica Simpson is really getting into character for her new album debut in country music. Huge earrings, brassy blonde hair, fake smile, hand on sister’s out-of-wedlock-but-now-wedlocked baby belly. That’s just tacky. I think that they should just let the whole baby thing go on but not draw attention to it. I mean Ashlee Simpson-Wentz barely has a bump anyway. At least wait till she’s actually wearing maternity clothes before the tacky hand-on belly photos.  (and is it just me or is Jessica chunking up a bit? Maybe it’s sympathy weight for preggers)
Oh and Jessica is quoted saying “They’re just the cutest couple in the world. They are adorable. Anybody would wish to be them and you can only wish them well. Just being around them inspires love and everything I sing about.”

Um, I’m an anybody, I might go so far as to say that I am a “somebody” on occasion (usually the occasion is karaoke night after 2 dirty martinis but before I attempt to sing Lady Marmalade or some other out-of-anyone’s-league-except Celine Dion’s-but especially-out-of-St. Standard’s-2 Dirty Martinis-buzzed-pee wee singing league)

I digress. Whether I am anybody or somebody, I do not “want to be them”! Ugh! No I’m sorry. I don’t want to be accidentally impregnated by a guy who wears more eyeliner and uses more hair products than I do.  Yeah, now that I think about it, I will pass on the whole accidental impregnation and forced by Joe Simpson quickie marriage. No thanks Jess and I think your standards may be just a smidge lower than they were when you and Nick were together.

For those of you who do not know who Tatum O’Neal is, she was the youngest person (10 years) to win an Oscar (for the movie Paper Moon). Her father is Ryan O’Neal. Wikipedia her if you need more info. But the real scoop is that this child star is now a CRACKHEAD! That’s right. Ms. O’Neal was reportedly arrested trying to buy crack in NYC at a place well-known for drug trafficking. You’d think that since this is not her first rodeo with drugs, she’d be a little smarter about where she goes to buy them, but then again we are talking about a crackhead after all…

Terrell Owens’ recent stint on “Under One Roof” apparently got him excited about his budding acting career. “I can act” he articulated in a recent interview about the role. Perhaps jumping ahead a few steps in his career, I guess he seems himself as quite the thespian, noting that “I don’t really see myself limiting myself just to comedy.” I don’t doubt it, considering the talent i’ve seen from him in this role.

No, I’m not talking about Barack Obama wrapping up the Democratic Nomination, I’m talking about David Cook winning American Idol.  If any of you y2kers care what I think about the American Idol finish, check back after the break.

 So, I know some of you all probably think I am bias, because this guy spent a few years of his life mastering his craft in my favorite city: Tulsa, Oklahoma, but this guy really is awesome (anyone that saw the Guitar Hero commercial from last night has to agree with me, youtube it if you haven’t seen it.)  I was 100% convinced that the other David from Utah had this thing wrapped up.  Maybe it was the fact that he was a teenager and little teen girls in reality probably run this country right now (by that I mean they probably have the most buying power).  It also could have been the fact that at the age of 17, that could could flat out sing.  He is one of the best singers I have heard in a while.  The kid has natural talent to sing and will have a good career singing songs that other people write.  BUT, David Cook is a natural.  He is so relaxed on stage, he took risks during the whole competition, and refused to back down, even when people said he should sing one of his “money” songs for the final episode.  That, by the way, is exactly what the other David did when he sang the best song ever written for the finale.  For the second time this season, he sang “Imagine” by John Lennon.  For those of you that know me, you know how I feel about John.  For those that don’t, I’ll just say that I think he is the best song-writer that has ever lived.  Period.  Now the fact that Archuleta decided to sing only the last verse of “Imagine” makes me mad.  But, that is a problem I have with the whole show in general.  I don’t know how you all feel about music, but I consider it a work of art, much like I consider film.  You wouldn’t want to watch 1/2 or even 1/4 of a movie, so why would you want to hear that much of a song.  So, when they do that to Beatles’ music (especially John Lennon music) I get a little bitter.   But, those are the rules of the show, and they have to follow them.  That being said, I thought Archuleta was a good singer (as I said earlier) but he messed up too many times (forgetting words, to Beatles’ songs none the less) but also was a bit too cheesy.  I know that seems like an obvious statement for American Idol, but he took it to the extreme.  That being said, I would like to congratulated David Cook.  HIs version of songs (although, admittedly, a lot of them had already been done by “established” musicians) were nonetheless different for a show of this kind.  I hope he has a good career and does not forget the years he spent in T-Town.  Thanks for hanging in there for all that, hopefully I will have some spare time in the near future to talk about things that reallly matter, such as the future of our country or Sooner Football.

Honestly, how does this happen?  They were married in a courthouse ceremony in Beverly Hills with no friends or family present, thats how it happens.  The effects of GHB only last so long…

First issue of the day:  It looks like some one at the Today Show dropped the ball and forgot to remind Fergie not to act like a whore on a morning talk show.  How desperate does she look now that she’s performing this horrible version of Barracuda again on national television while giving seductive (read: scary, I bet the kids thought she was a werewolf since her eyebrows connect to her hairline) stares to 8 year old kids. 

“Gee, thanks mommy for taking me to the today show, I guess we should have “The Talk” now since I’ve got eye-f’d on national television this morning… ”
