Is it just me, or does anyone else think this site is a Huge scam? The way I rate websites being a scam is when I’m at my parents house and they think they have found a great deal. If you havent heard of them yet, it’s a penny auction site that lets you bid on items a penny each time. Except for every penny you bid, really cost you 60 cents and after every bid, the auction time goes back up. So for every object sold, like a Samsung 55 HDTV maybe worth $2500 sold for 87.50 to the bidder that won. Now, calculate that out, $87.50 is eight thousand seven hundred fifty bids at 60 cents a bid. That’s $5250 they have made for the price of a $2500 3D HDTV. Plus the $87.50 that the winner has to pay on top of that, and lets face, they probably got that TV for way under list price, like maybe $1200. Now it’s officially legit to do all this, but the way they advertise the site is buy stuff here for 90% off. Thats after you have wasted a LOT of other money on auctions you didnt win.

My Advice, Stay away, stay FAR AWAY!!!

People, you got to get better at creating passwords… These numbers just posted on Gizmodo are Staggering to me. The worst is seeing the number of people who had the same password on Sony’s Site as the passwords that got released by Gawker! That means, even after receiving an email from them, people STILL did not change their password on other sites… That is just asking for someone to steal you life and turn yours into a living hell.

Of the 37,608 released passwords, only 4% had three or more character types, with half made up of just one character type. Of that half, 90% used all lowercase. Less than 1% of all users used even a single a non-alphanumeric character. Among the accounts that made appearances in both Sony directories, 92%!! reused their password. And to hammer home the point, Hunt makes a callback to Gawker’s brush with the Hacker Kingdom to report that a full 67% of shared users used an identical password in the Gawker and Sony systems.

I Love Gmail… LOVE Gmail. I use it everyday!!

I have it, lots of friends have it, and even my parents. When my parents use a service, I can guarantee you its ease of use. Anyway, it’s all being HACKED!!.. Gmail, hotmail, yahoo, all of them. Lot’s of Viagra Pushers out there, and they want you to buy!

So why Care? Well, your main email gets hacked, well, you’re pretty screwed and pretty fast will things get out of hand. Let’s take me for example. Get into my main email, you can do a search for all kinds of websites including Bank sites and see what I registered with, just search for “thank you for registering” ALL KINDS of emails will come up. Then they know all kinds of sites your email and password will work on. If you remember when Gawker got their servers hacked a while back, I was one of the accounts that got hacked. It was one of my less secure passwords but hacked none-the-less. How did I know? The night it happened, I was already twittering about buying acai berry supplements to my friends. I just figured my twitter account was hacked and didn’t know about Gawker at all yet. It was almost impossible to remember where all I have used that email and password combo. Turns out, a LOT OF SITES. Especially stuff you can’t remember, like that time you were wasted in college and registered at papajohns.com to order a pizza because you lost your phone at the bar. You’re credit card is tied to ALL kind of sites you don’t remember.

So what do you do? Secure that shit up!!! Yes, I cursed to get your attention! You need a separate password for your email then any other site. No, you can’t use you cats/dogs name and whatever you use, you need to symbol that up!! Example. you were born in September, and you want that as your pass, that’s fine, but now you need to symbol and number that. Let’s do September and Me, easy to remember, but now with symbols and number and capitols looks like this S3pt3mB3r@M3! After that, you read this article and set up two factor authentication!

Ensuring your information is safe online 6/01/2011 12:42:00 PM The Internet has been an amazing force for good in the world—opening up communications, boosting economic growth and promoting free expression. But like all technologies, it can also be used for bad things. Today, despite the efforts of Internet companies and the security community, identity theft, fraud and the hijacking of people’s email accounts are common problems online.

The device is similar to the one Yasir Afifi found underneath his car. If you’re curious where this one came from, Wired has posted a writeup about Karen Thomas, the woman who found this tracker under her car. They’ve also posted a video of Kyle doing the teardown. The device comprises of a GPS unit for receiving the car’s position, an RF transmitter for relaying your location to the interested authority aka the FBI, and a set of sweet D-cell batteries that power the whole enchilada. But we didn’t stop there, of course. Read on to find out exactly what components make this secretive device tick
